1. Privacy-First Location Principle

Your geographical location (GPS) is processed strictly within your local browser to display your position on the map and calculate distance to the nearest temple or parikrama stop.

• We do not store, log, track, or share your live GPS location on our servers.
• Location permission is optional; pilgrims may manually select any festival or landmark without enabling GPS.

2. Account & Registration Data

When you choose to register an account to contribute POIs, save circuits, or submit guides:

• We collect your name, username, email address, and hashed password.
• Email verification is performed via secure, short-lived one-time passwords (OTP).
• We never sell, trade, or monetize your contact information with any advertising network or third party.

3. Cookies & Local Storage

Utsav uses minimal browser local storage to preserve your language preference and authentication session token. No intrusive tracking or advertising cookies are deployed.
